The city of Petrópolis is located 60 km away from Rio de Janeiro and it's called the Imperial City since the Emperor Pedro II, enchanted by its fresh climate and beauty, bought a large property in 1830. Settled by the Germans, Petrópolis keeps the memory of Brazilian history with its buildings and charming streets.
You will visit the Imperial Museum and the summer residence of the Imperial Family during the 19th Century and marvel at an impressive art and jewelry collection, including the famous Imperial Crown. You will also visit the Crystal Palace, built in France and mounted in Brazil, destined to shelter exhibitions and great parties promoted by Princess Isabel. The tour will continue on the São Pedro de Alcântara Neo Gothic Cathedral.
