Day 1 - Mar`04: Flight to Salvador Depart from home to Salvador. (Most of the flights leave in the evening.)
Day 2 - Mar`05: Salvador Arrive in Salvador where you will be met by our representative and transfer to your hotel. After assisting you with check-in, you'll have free day to rest or enjoy the beach. At night dinner in a typical Bahian Restaurant.
Day 3 - Mar`06: Salvador After Brazilian Breakfast, depart for a lively City Tour of Salvador. Visit the Pelourinho, the recently restored historical center of Salvador, which the UNESCO declared a World Heritage Cultural Site. The rest of the day is free to explore on your own or relax at the pool or the beach. -At night Carnival (Camarote Fest)- Salvador is Brazil's street carnival. It lasts for weeks. The music begins daily as early as noon and runs until 7 or 8 the next morning. So, it is not a surprise that Salvador has one of the best carnivals in Brazil. Several of the most popular musicians in Brazil are from Bahia, and they do come back for carnival. So, you may come across free shows by Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Daniela Mercury, Gal Costa, Maria Betania and several other singers and groups.
Day 4 - Mar`07: Salvador After the late breakfast, enjoy today Panoramic City Tour. The tour takes in Itapagipe peninsula, Monserrat, for a striking panoramic view of the city and ending at Mercado Modelo, a thriving market for local artifacts. At night is free to explore Salvador on your own.
Day 5 - Mar`08: Salvador Free day to rest or enjoy beach near the hotel. -At night Carnival (Camarote Fest)- Carnival in Salvador is different than in Rio de Janeiro. In Bahia, the parade winds its way through the streets from one end of the city to the city center from Saturday to Tuesday. Throughout Salvador there will be viewing stands for the various blocos (Carnival Street Blocks). These vantage areas will provide great viewing of the parade of trios eletricos (singers placed atop mobile sound trucks) and all of the Carnival activities that surround them. At the grandstand, there will be music for dancing during the lulls in Carnival activity. Light meals, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.
Day 6 - Mar`09: Salvador - Rio de Janeiro After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Arrive in Rio de Janeiro where you will be met by our representative and transfer to your hotel. After assisting you with check-in, you'll have free day to rest or enjoy the beach. At night dinner in a typical Churrascaria in Rio.
Day 7 - Mar`10: Rio de Janeiro After breakfast your guide will take you on your half day tour of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Depart the hotel towards downtown, passing by Rio's traditional and historical sites. Then on to Sugar Loaf Mountain, the guardian of Guanabara Bay. The rest of the day is free to discover the city on your own.
Day 8 - Mar`11: Rio de Janeiro After Breakfast you will visit Corcovado. At the Corcovado railroad station take a train ride through the forest of "Floresta da Tijuca" up to the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which stands 38 meters high, 710 meters above the city. Enjoy one of the most majestic views of Rio de Janeiro: the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, the Lagoon and Sugar loaf. Afternoon is free for your own activities.
Day 9 - Mar`12: Rio de Janeiro After the breakfast enjoy today the beaches in front of your hotel! In the afternoon transfer to the Sambódromo for the Carnival Winners Parade. On the Saturday after carnival, the Samba Schools Winners of the Special Group, from Sunday and Monday, parade in all their splendor. On this Saturday, there are no celebrations on the street, only at the Sambodromo people celebrate the "post-carnival". The samba parade itself - people says, because only the best samba-schools will parade and performers are in excellent mood at this perfect winners show.
Day 10 - Mar`13: Rio de Janeiro - back home After the late breakfast, enjoy today the beaches in front of your hotel! In the afternoon transfer to the airport and flight back home.
